The client is a leading provider of integrated digital marketing solutions for the Global 2000 enterprises. They combine agency services with world-class campaign execution on a proprietary technology platform to deliver superior marketing results for clients. They create and execute campaigns across multiple media channels including personalized email, targeted websites, banner and other web advertisements, search engines, and direct mail.

Business situation

Aiming to become a leader in the email marketing sphere and growing at a phenomenal rate through serving a diverse set of companies, our client’s persistence for maintaining quality of its customers’ campaign pages grew multifold. With increase in the client’s service offerings and customer base, the client decided to offshore certain activities in order to achieve better return on investment. This decision was intended for better cost savings, and quick turn around time of work done by using an offshore team working beyond the client’s working hours.

Technical situation

The client felt the need for better quality control of the campaign pages and associated landing pages to meet up with the increasing expectations of their valued customers. With a motive to improve the quality of release of these pages, the client identified the need for an offshore entity that would work as an extended team and handle all QA activities for specific projects. Their requirements were:

Solution

The client selected Lister as their offshore testing partner and outsourced their QA for their campaign pages development service. Lister analyzed the requirements of the client and came up with the following test strategy:

  • To build custom tools/application to ease QA process and increase efficiency
  • To set up a rigorous and efficient test process that ensured all QA activities were performed methodically
  • To have multiple shifts which provide customer support for 18 hours a day

The test scope included functionality, usability, compatibility, integration, database and user interface testing for all the web pages developed.

Lister focused intensively on rolling out quality releases of the tested solutions. It provided complete web testing solutions, from requirement analysis to test reporting. Lister managed the testing process by choosing the best approach, assigning roles and responsibilities, planning and scheduling, mitigating risk, conducting review at each step and documenting all these in reports. Lister also developed custom testing solutions for each project and provided support till the project went live.
